"We never miss the Liberty & Union Festival! It's a fun day filled with amazing history, culture, and entertainment for the whole family. "
"Where else can you learn 18th century dancing, pet an alpaca, and enjoy a delicious lunch prepared by local culinary students?"
Each fall, Taunton, Massachusetts' Liberty and Union Day commemorates the events of October 1774, when our community became one of the first in the American colonies to raise a flag in opposition to British rule. That flag - the "Liberty and Union" flag - flies proudly over our city to this day.

Liberty and Union Day consists of artisanal vendors, food for sale, historical reenactors, activities for families, and more. The living history event is hosted by the Old Colony History Museum, located on beautiful, Church Green in the heart of historic Downtown Taunton. It's the perfect backdrop for a day of learning and exploring. Visitors can experience life as it was in the past, try colonial-era crafts, and learn about the history of the region.

Enjoy the beauty of fall in New England and the hospitality of the Taunton community while we celebrate our local contribution to the American Revolution.
